THE VACANCY

Director for Adult Social Care

Hours: Full time

Contract: Permanent

Salary: £121,776 - £134,160
Location: Dudley, West Midlands – on site

About the role

​

As a key member of our senior leadership team, you will drive strategic and operational change, working closely with Directors and Group Directors to shape modern, person-centred adult social care services that put people first and deliver meaningful outcomes.

​

Key responsibilities

 

  • Statutory Director of Adult Social Services (DASS) and Caldicott Guardian, championing the highest standards in care and data governance.

  • Leading adult social care operations, safeguarding, professional practice, and integrated commissioning with the NHS and partners.

  • Driving transformation that prioritises independence, prevention, and early intervention.

  • Embedding a strong culture of practice, focused on quality, outcomes, and continuous improvement.

  • Working collaboratively across the Council, and closely with Children & Young People, Public Health teams and partners to promote independence, strengthen transitioning to adulthood, reduce health inequalities and improve population health.
